[ This place is the afterlife and this girl should be allowed to sleep as long as she wants, is Minato's opinion. He should be allowed to too, but his head doesn't feel quite as foggy anymore, though his limbs feel stiff and heavy and he probably has bruises all over his hip and knees from the fall.
With a sigh, he grabs at the bedsheet that's half off the bed and pulls it completely off so it can cover his head and he can lie down right on the floor, watching the pink creature as it pokes at the girl again, and then proceeds to sit on top of her. Up up up-- ]
[ Did you know that a Chansey weighs 76.3lbs/34.6kg? And Nanami only weighs 101lbs/46kg? This Pokemon is suffocating her and she's going to die for again for the third time. She dreams of the ceiling slowly but surely sliding downwards to squish her to death. She's going to be a Nanami Sandwich if her team member kicks down the door soon. Oh no, she can't breathe, it's going to be a game over-- ]
[ She suddenly sits up in bed with a loud gasp of air. The pink blob rolls over and falls onto Minato. :( ]
[ Minato weighs quite a bit more, but that much weight falling onto his face isn't the most pleasant experience either. Chansey is so large and squishy that he can't even fit his arms around it to roll it off, and the space between two beds is too narrow for him to get out of the way.
He gives up struggling and just lies there, still and silent. Five tags in and we're already dead--
no, mercifully, the Chansey sits up on its own, so that it's only crushing Minato's legs instead of all of him, and blinks up at the two of them with beady black eyes. "Chansey!" it chirrups, while Minato loses all feeling in his legs. ]
[ Despite her rude awakening, Nanami yawns and rubs at one of her eyes. Her brain is in the process of booting up, complete with the Windows XP startup sounds, so it doesn't hit her just yet that she shouldn't really exist. She slowly gazes her eyes around the room and, unfortunately for Minato, the Chansey immediately has her attention. Holy shit. ]
Wow! It's a Chansey!
[ She is now fully awake, but she's still unaware of Minato's presence because he's all the way on the ground and she's not looking there. ]
You're wearing a nurse's hat. Are you from a Pokemon Centre?
[ "Chansey!" the Pokemon confirms happily, glad to know that Nanami knows what it is and where she is, unlike this other boy sitting here who looks completely and utterly confused. Minato just... sits there quietly, letting this riveting conversation take place, trying to wiggle his toes in desperation for blood flow.
Without getting up from Minato, Chansey reaches into its pouch and holds its egg out to Nanami. ]
[ A Chansey egg! Nanami takes it carefully into her hands. She doesn't want to drop it. According to the Pokedex, they're highly nutritious and very delicious, so she needs to make sure that she treats it like a rare item that you only obtain a few times in a single playthrough. She says her thanks to the Chansey and then finally notices Minato slowly losing his legs on the ground. ]
[ She's slow with her words, carefully considering them before she speaks. She'll talk faster once she gets to know Minato some more. Assuming that he doesn't starve to deathx2 if the Chansey never gets off him. She looks back at the giant pink creature. ]
Did you want to heal our Pokemon? I don't have any, though...
[ If it won't attack him, then he's doomed to sit here forever and lose his legs, especially seeing as how this creature doesn't appear to be getting off him any time soon. Its patients are awake and chatting away, so it has no reason to think anything is wrong. ]
Pokemon are... soul monsters? I've been sleeping for a while, so I think they're okay. You don't have yours...?
[ Can a person lose their Persona? He probably shouldn't have his any more either, what with being dead and promising his soul elsewhere already. ]
[ Gastly, Phantump, Yamask, and such on. Ghost-types aren't very common, though. They're relatively rare to find and normally only in specific areas/times. ]
I have all of them, but not any real ones... do you?
[ He did fill up his compendium, but that's not necessarily all of them, is it? He would give anything to have Cerberus... but unfortunately, it looks like there are Personas unique to certain people, and it's impossible. ]
I have a hundred and fifty. They're real, but I dunno how I can show you.
[ He points a finger at his head and mimes pulling the trigger, as if that means anything to her. ]
[ Honestly, Nanami should be more focused on things like figuring out where they are, how she's still functioning, if this is even real, or a million other things, but those are things to worry about later. There is a Pokemon next to her! And a person who is apparently saying that they have soul monsters; though this guy might be more like Gundam and just say that stuff. Regardless, this conversation is more in the realm of things that she knows so it's easier for her to carry on talking without pausing a hundred times. ]
Why do you need a wagon?
[ She's automatically thinking of small-sized balls, forgetting that there are larger ones. Sports are definitely not her forte and all important ball-shaped items are small, like Materia and Pokeballs. ]
Hmm... the max capacity is six so a fifth can go in your bag... and a sixth under your hat...?
[ Maybe Minato is just a really weird guy who likes to do things the hard way and keep his balls really far apart from each other. Nanami isn't here to judge because what does she know? She's just an AI. ]
[ Persona... compendium... PC. It's not an automatic process, though, and it's a little more complicated than he can wrap his mind around, so he sort of just shakes his head and shrugs helplessly, to indicate that he knows fuck all anything else about the process. ]
I've never seen this one before, though. [ He gives Chansey a poke on the side. Or ass. He can't see what he's poking, it's just a huge expanse of pink on his lap. ]
[ Nanami nods. She sees. So, it's similar to Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei and its demon program. That makes sense to her. She nods again in response to Minato's question. ]
It's a Chansey. It's a normal-type Pokemon.
[ She looks upwards as she thinks. It's finally time to start figuring out what's going on. ]
[ Normal type is like... what... beast Persona or something. It doesn't really matter, if he can't get this thing off of him, so instead he leans forward and presses his cheek against Chansey to use as a pillow while he looks around the room.
It's a pretty small room, four beds and a sink in the back with a cabinet above it, and a door that leads outside. Empty, clean, and white. ]
It looks like a hospital...
[ He tears his gaze off the door and looks back at Nanami. ]
[ Such a sentence would have shaken most people to the core, but not for Nanami. She knows she died. There's no doubt about it. Her real-life counterpart died years ago and she, this copied version of the original, was executed. She doesn't seem very distressed about that, however. She willingly chose to accept her death and even asked for it, so she's not that upset. It was for her friends, but she's more confused. Do programs go to an afterlife? Is this the recycle bin? ]
[ Recycle bin............ as if they'd have the mercy of sparing her shift delete. ]
Mm... I don't know. I'd like to think so.
[ He thinks of Aigis, naturally, of how she'd grown to become her own person and how he'd left her behind... He wouldn't want her to follow him here after death, no matter how lonely he feels without her and everybody else, no matter her promise to always be by his side. ]
I wouldn't know if this is heaven, though. Purgatory, maybe? The space before it.
[ There's no reason for him to believe he would go to heaven, but maybe Nanami still has a chance. ]

... are you okay?

[ No. But also, yes? Nothing more can hurt him when he's dead, so he considers himself to be pretty okay. ]
I'm sorta waiting for this thing to attack so it'll go away.
[ That's how Personas work, anyways. Too bad crushing his legs don't count as an attack. ]
